Washington Access Fund (WATF)
The Washington Access Fund (WATF) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) established by and for people with disabilities in Washington state. Washington Access Fund provides low-interest loans and other financing services to help individuals with disabilities obtain the technologies and business equipment needed to live independently and to succeed at school, at work, at play, and in the community.
In collaboration with the Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development and United Way of King County, Washington Access Fund offers a Matched Savings Account, or Individual Development Account (IDA), program that allows participants to save up to $4,000 towards the purchase of assistive technology and receive matching funds. These wheelchair funding sources can be applied toward the cost of mobility devices including wheelchairs, invacare wheelchairs, lightweight wheelchairs, and sport wheelchairs. The assistive technology purchased through this program must be used for work-related activities or education/training intended to lead to work-related activities.
